No Impact week dag 3 en dus ook uitdaging 3: Neem een douche in 5 minuten. Nou ik zeg 't je, dit was lastig, het lastigste gedeelte was vooral dat het minstens 5 minuten duurt voordat eindelijk de douche op temperatuur is. Conclusie: douche op temperatuur en Iris alweer onder de douche uit... Oké, dit is niet helemaal waar, ik heb een beetje gesmokkeld door er 3 minuten meer aan vast te plakken. Anders was het pas echt water verspilling geweest!

Sinds gister is de No-Impact week begonnen en ik hoor je denken, waar heeft ze het over? De No-Impact week is bij ons op school gestart om je bewust te maken dat je zelf daadwerkelijk iets kan veranderen, denk aan biologisch eten, minder energie/water verbruiken en noem het maar op. Iedere dag krijgen we een opdracht, en voor de maandag was de uitdaging om biologisch/vegetarisch te eten, te letten op de verpakkingen en zelf een tas mee te nemen.

Na school ben ik meteen boodschappen gaan doen. Aan mijn sleutelbos heb ik een klein opvouwbaar tasje dus daar hoefde ik me al niet meer druk om te maken. Nou ik kan je vertellen, boodschappen doen was nog best lastig. Ik wist dat de Albert Hein biologische producten verkocht, maar wat en waar die nou precies stonden. Dat was goed zoeken, daarnaast heb je al snel te veel als je voor 1 persoon boodschappen moet doen, zeker als je geen al te grote eter bent. Gelukkig zijn er veel grote merken die het ook belangrijk vinden om duurzame/biologische producten te verkopen. 

Dus dag 1 is aardig gelukt. Al zeg ik het zelf.

Het tweede mailtje voor dag 2 daagde ons uit om zo min mogelijk stroom te verbruiken en dus ook de verwarming lager. Nou moet ik zeggen dat ik in mijn kamer mijn verwarming niet eens aan hoef te zetten aangezien de rest van het huis flink stookt en ik het zelf te warm vind, je merkt het verschil ook tussen mijn kamer en de gang, bij mij is het een stuk koeler. Deze missie was een eitje! 

Ik ben benieuwd wat dag 3 mij brengt!

 Since the last couple of years blogging became the new way of keeping a diary, the only difference is the fact that you’re sharing your day(or outfit) and not keeping it too yourself in a little book with a lock on it. Lots of cool man and woman can and have been found on the internet and everybody can get in touch with everybody.

 This also became the new way to become a fashion icon and that is exactly what most of the bloggers want to become. Think of all the hundreds of blogs in which people are showing outfits posts. And I just wonder if this little fellow feels the same way or at least  if his boss Julianna Le did. Logan’s Look is a fashion blog, but this time I’m not talking about a human fashion blog. I’m talking about a dog fashion blog.

Why do I think this is cool? Well, I think it is interesting to open a blog and not see another girl doing her poses while showing her ‘outfit of the day’ and hoping to become the new Andy Torres.  Instead you see a cute little dog. In the first few seconds I had to laugh and at the same time I felt a little sad. A dog wearing a Ralf Lauren scarf or a t-shirt form American Apparel. My feelings about this are mixed. But then I also realised. This dog is lucky! Lately their goes a lot of attention to animal cruelty. And this little boy is getting a lot of love from his boss. And his boss wants to show the animal he/she loves so much. Even though I’m not a fan of dressing your pet, with this freezing weather it’s not even a bad idea to dress a little dog to keep him warm. And why not doing this in a fashionable way? I’m pretty curious if this will get bigger, dressing your pet isn’t new, but a pet with its own fashion blog? Will humans’ best friend also become humans new online fashion icon or an inspiration for other animal keepers? I think animal keepers will get inspired by this and also feel like showing their cute pets to the world in crazy outfits. There is only one thing; I really hope these people won’t dress their pets during summer. Cause the poor dog (or what kind of animal it also may be) will pass out in the sun.

Street illusions

Since high school I’m pretty obsessed with street art, it all began with an Englisch street artist named Julian Beever. I was so amazed by his work, it just dazzled me. And I wanted to start drawing just as realistic as he could. Unfortunately I figured out that it just wasn’t my thing, but that didn’t took my interest away. I think it just makes the world a little prettier when you add some colour and some really awesome drawings.

       

Julian Beever is wel known for his use of 
tromp l'oeile. Which is a painting technique that makes paintings look very realistic. And to be more specific, he is using anamorfose, wich means it only gives the 3D effect when you're looking at it from one specific point.

Feeling like somebody else?

Do you want to look like Angelina Jolie? Meghan Fox? Or maybe Johnny Depp? Well if you think that’s impossible than guess what, it isn’t! Because there is a girl who is able to transform herself into one of these big names, and make-up is her secret and no, she isn’t a professional make-up artist, she taught it herself! And it even gets better! All these movies are tutorials so you can learn how to transform yourself too!

About who am I talking? I’m talking about Promise Tamang Phan a 24 year old Vietnamese-American girl also known as the Youtube beauty guru dope2111. It is absolutely incredible what she can do with make-up, my personal first reaction was: WAUW. I was completely blown away!

But why is this so cool? Besides of the fact that it is absolutely impressive, it even looks doable in her tutorials, which makes it attractive for the one who’s watching, to try it too.  

There is only one thing that bothers me, what about natural beauty? Is this what makes us forget what true beauty is? This girl just proved we can change ourselves in the most gorgeous man and woman, but is that a must nowadays? Do we all have to have the perfect face? I believe it is fantastic what she does, and she makes playing with make-up fun! But I hope young girl won’t see this as perfect, cause if they start loving that perfect shaped nose, they maybe want it permanent. And in a society which turns plastic surgery into a birthday gift, you just never know!

Even though the negative part of it, I do believe this has got future potential, since the beauty blogs are booming out of the network, I believe this girl takes beauty tutorials to a whole other level.

And we will definitely see more of these kind of tutorials soon.
